Currently we are not meeting on a regular basis -- however, we would love to have you join our group of animal lovers and assist us in planning the many exciting events we have coming up for this year.  We are also looking for new people to work with us in getting our new shelter built and to help us make this the best year yet for Rim Country's homeless animals.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

We at the Payson Humane Society are fortunate to have exemplary employees, and Janet Ostrom is one such person.  Not only is Janet an exceptional employee, but she is our longest running one at that.

On December 1, 2003, Janet was hired as a kennel staff person.  In addition to cleaning and sanitizing kennels and cages, kennel staff assist with adoptions, as well as other necessary tasks.

In no time, Janet was put in charge of puppies.  She held that position until June of 2004, when she was promoted to Administrative Supervisor, and put in charge of records, deposits, general paperwork and bookkeeping responsibilities.

Then, in October 2006, Janet became Shelter Manager and held that title until October 2007, when a shelter director was hired in anticipation of a new facility.  At that point, Janet was put in charge of Finance and Bookkeeping and has remained in that capacity to this day.

Janet has seen a lot of changes in her nearly 5 years at Payson Humane Society, and she is hopeful that the next 5 will begin at a brand new, state-of-the-art facility.

PAYSON HUMANE SOCIETY ~ NEW SHELTER UPDATE

Update:

The Payson Humane Society is pleased to announce an extremely generous offer from an anonymous donor for matching funds for our new building project.  This donor will match donations received from the public, up to $100,000.

The donations should be marked for the building fund, but donors should be aware that 10% of any donation will be applied to the general operating fund.  This is to insure that enough funds are received to pay for the daily expenses of operating the shelter.

Since funds donated now will not be used for many months, they will have the advantage of being invested and earning interest until they are needed.

We urge the community to take this opportunity to double, with interest, its generosity by donating to the Building Fund now.

Click on "Newsletter" on the menu bar to read our latest "New Shelter Update".
